Happy Birthday IWSG Website!

The Insecure Writers Support Group has been going on for a little over three years, and the website dedicated to the group has been up for a year now. It's a great group if anyone still hasn't signed up for it yet.

For the anniversary they are putting together the IWSG Guide to Publishing and Beyond. Anyone interested should stop by the link for more info. I myself have nothing to add to the conversation (I have been so, so busy lately) but I will definitely be looking for the anthology when it comes out.

As far as insecurity goes, I'm starting to worry about my lack of output. I haven't written anything but essays in the past two months. I haven't even completed typing up my handwritten pages from Camp NaNo last summer. I really need to get on that. In fact this whole post is being typed up at 9pm, and I still have to read a chapter for my Cultural Anthropology class tonight so I can start yet another paper that's due on Friday. I also only got about 2 hours of sleep last night because I was stressing about my Algebra mid-term next week (math of any sort is not my strong suit), and I've been dreaming about bones and bone markings every other night for the past week (Anatomy and Physiology. Yes, both subjects crammed together into one class). And then there's my job...better to just not go into that right now.

Anyway, as you can see I'm busy. But not so busy that I can't find time to zone out in front of Netflix a couple of evenings a week. Which makes me feel guilty for not doing other, more productive things.

But enough about me, before this gets out of hand. How is everyone else in IWSGland doing?

  1. I worry about my level of output too. Sometimes I struggle to finish things and end up feeling horrible because of it. I think I need to find new ways to motivate myself this month.

  2. I think lots of us are inconsistent in our output. You certainly sound very busy.

  3. When you're that drained, it's hard to be productive. Just do what you can, when you can.

  4. I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. As for the main issue, I'm worried I've been slipping in the output area. But writing just a sentence here and there can help. Good luck with your future projects.

  5. Sometimes we go through writing droughts, especially when we have other commitments. I hope you've been able to do balance everything and get more writing done. :)
